Day 2 : AlDakhla ( overnight Eco Lodge)
Our adventure continues with an early rise and a journey to Al-Dakhla Oasis. We'll begin by exploring the Bashandi Archeological Site, a village celebrated for its traditional crafts.
Here, we'll witness the artistry of local carpets, rugs, baskets, wooden creations, and embroidery, reflecting the vibrant life of the oasis.
Next, we'll visit the Balat El-Faraoneya Tombs, a collection of five Mastaba-styled tombs dating back to the Fourth Dynasty.
Our exploration then takes us to El-Qasr, a small village in Dakhla Oasis, captivatingly preserved in its ancient state. Following this, we'll venture to the Tombs of El-Mezauaka, aptly named "The Ornamented" due to their vibrant multi-colored reliefs dating to the days of the Roman era.
Our itinerary concludes with a visit to the village of Mut, an ancient settlement and the former capital of El Dakhla Oasis. Its name, intriguingly, originates from the ancient Egyptian goddess Mut. As our second day comes to a close, we'll settle into an Eco Lodge for the night, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
