It was a memorable journey in a new and air-conditioned van. We stopped by Edfu and Kom Ombu to visit the magnificent temples. We learnt about the ancient civilization of Egyptians during the time of the Pharaohs. The temple architecture was amazing. The next day, we drove from Aswan to Abu Simbel. Mr Ahmed Samara was an excellent driver who ensured our safety and comfort. Mr Tayeb was a great tour guide and Egyptologist who is well-versed in English and provided insightful information during our tour. The Abu Simbel Temple is not to be missed. It was relocated to its present location during the construction of the Aswan High Dam. We enjoyed our visit to the Abu Simbel Temple, the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Nubian Village. We visted many of the sites where Jesus was during his escape to Egypt, visited the mosque and the new churches built on the rock by the Orthodox Christians in Cairo.
