Day 2: Pyramids-Saqqara-Museum
Our tour guide will greet you in the morning and take you to see the splendor of the ancient monarchy on the Giza Plateau. Explore the Pyramids of Giza, Cheops, Mykerinus, and Chephren, the last surviving ancient wonders of the world, to begin your personalized trip. Learn the history of this amazing structure, which still retains the mystery surrounding its creation, under the guidance of our knowledgeable Egyptologist. Savor the spectacular perspective of the Pyramids rising out of Giza's golden sand from the Plateau. Now is the time to document your life with photographs! Let's greet Abu El Hol, the magnificent Sphinx that is 3,000 years old, before we depart the site.
The Pyramid of Saqqara, also called the Pyramid of Djoser, the second stop on your itinerary. The enormous necropolis of ancient Memphis is known as Saqqara. More than 4,000 years ago, King Djoser constructed his tomb here. For the first time in history, a tomb of this type was constructed using the pyramidal shape.
After lunch, visit the Egyptian Museum, which houses the most exquisite ancient Egyptian artifacts, royal mummies, and King Tutankhamun's incredible riches. Spend the night back at your hotel.
Finally, our guide will return you to your hotel.
Day 3: The Islamic and Coptic Cairo.
Take a trip back in time by exploring Cairo's ancient neighborhood. Enjoy a magnificent example of Ottoman architecture to start your day: the Alabaster Mosque. Mostly composed of limestone that most likely originated from the Pyramids of Giza, the Alabaster Mosque was built by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848 as a memorial to his eldest son, who passed away in 1816. See the Sultan Hassan Mosque, one of the most exquisite and striking examples of Mamluk craftsmanship. It is an Islamic compound that includes a mosque and a madrassa where the four schools of Islamic thinking were formerly taught.
Make your way to the city's Coptic section and see Ben Ezra Synagogue. Known for its Geniza, this temple is thought to have been constructed where the daughter of the pharaoh found Moses when he was still a newborn.
The Hanging Church, hung over the gate of the ancient Babylone Fortress, aims to attract admiration. Enter this sacred structure and look at the 13 pillars that support the whole nave. Admire the stunning structures, mosques, traditional homes, and madrassas (Quran schools) as you stroll down El Moez Street. You might go to Bayt El Suheymi, one of them.
Following that, navigate Khan El Khalili's streets. All residents who wish to purchase gold still resort to this souk, which was constructed in the fourteenth century. Gold, soap, spices, and handcrafted mementos. You'll be driven back to your lodging.
Day 4: Travel to Alexandria.
Drive to Alexandria in an air-conditioned car after breakfast. Go into the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. This Roman necropolis, one of the seven wonders of the medieval world, combined the finest techniques of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman funeral art. The collection of tombs, sculptures, and artifacts from archaeology are still on display today.
Then, you'll meet the enormous Pompey Pillar which cannot be missed. In contrast to its name, this pillar is unrelated to the well-known Roman commander Pompey! The pillar was actually built in 291 during the reign of Emperor Diocletian. Constructed from a single block of red granite from Aswan, the Pompey pillar is 26.85 meters high. This magnificent building stands atop the remains of the temple dedicated to Serapis, the Greek-Egyptian deity who guarded Alexandria. A sphinx dedicated to Serapis is visible next to the Pillar.
Next, you'll visit the modern Library of Alexandria (visit its open court+the museum which includes a lot of pieces of the ancient Biblioteca ), It was built in the same location as the Biblioteca was existing, and you are going to watch many pieces and rooms from the ancient Biblioteca.
Saint Catherine Church is the next stop on your itinerary. Look at the neo-baroque architecture of the holy structure while facing it. You will be astounded by how the sunshine permeates the structure and accentuates its grandeur once you are inside. According to Christian tradition, Saint Catherine was a princess and a scholar who became Christian at the age of 14 and converted with her hundreds of pagans. She became a martyr after being tortured and imprisoned before being put to death by Emperor Maxentius.
Later, go to the National Museum of Alexandria. This museum chronicles the history of the old cosmopolitan metropolis by relying on three primary collections.
Last but not least, explore Qaitbay Citadel, a Mamluk Dynasty legacy constructed on the site of the lighthouse of Alexandria, formerly one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The castle, which Sultan Ashram Sayf El-Din Quit Bay built in 1477, is a prime illustration of Mamluk military construction. It was specifically built to defend Alexandria from the Ottoman Empire's invasion.
Take a stroll over Stanley Bridge to round off your day on the corniche, where you can take in an unmatched vista of the ocean. The bridge is exquisitely illuminated at night, causing the river it spans to sparkle.
You will spend the night in your hotel in Alexandria.
Day 5: Travel to El Alamein.
After your breakfast, take a sit in an air-conditioned vehicle to Al Alamein. Historically, El Alamein was a field for two important World War II battles between the Allies and the Axis. These two battles ended with the victory of the Allies but with many losses on both sides.
You can visit the eternal home of thousands of soldiers in the Cemetery of the Commonwealth and the German, Italian and Greek cemeteries.
Proceed between the uniforms, photos, and artillery of the War Museum and relive the intensity of the battlefield. Drive to the port city of Marsa Matruh overnight. The bright white sand and the turquoise sea are an idyllic stop-over before reaching Siwa Oasis.
Day 6: Travel to Siwa.
It’s time to leave the urbanized world for the purity of desert by entering the Oasis of Siwa. Isolated in the middle of the Western Desert, Siwa’s society completely differs from the dominant Egyptian culture and thus offers you a unique experience.
Discover the local Siwan traditions and characteristic Berber language: the Siwi. The crystalline springs disseminated throughout the oasis are sanctuaries against the insistent heat. The most famous one is Cleopatra’s Bath: get into the stone pool and enjoy the relaxing gurgles of the translucent spring water. The changing air temperature and the bubbling water make the water cool in the day and warm during the fresh evenings.
Contemplate the salty lakes emerging from the golden soil in order to vivify the blazing sand dunes. Take the opportunity of a mountain tour to admire the pleasant sunset. Enjoy a visit to the ruins of the Temple of the Oracle which was devoted to the god Amun. This temple was erected by Alexander the Great in order to confirm that he was the son of Zeus (associated by the Greeks with Amun). Thereby he can claim to become a pharaoh.
Finally, you'll head to your hotel.
Day 7: Siwa
Enjoy a day of fun and adventure in Siwa Oasis. Climb aboard a Jeep and explore the vast Western desert. Enjoy the inimitable sensations provided by the dunes. The shiny sun, the fine sand dunes, lose yourself in the middle of this golden desert.
End your day under the starry sky of Siwa, savoring a delicious barbecue and drinking Bedouin tea. Experience Bedouin life by spending the night in a traditional tent.
Day 8: siwa
Go back to the hotel to pick up your personal belongings. Travel back to Cairo for your final departure.
