Itinerary
Day 1 : Fly to Luxor/East Bank Tour
In the morning, our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and transfer you to Cairo International Airport for your flight to Luxor.
Upon arrival in Luxor, our Egyptologist guide will meet you at Luxor International Airport and escort you to the East Bank to explore the two magnificent temples of ancient Thebes.
Step into Karnak Temple, the largest ancient temple dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and their son Khonsu. Connect with the ancient past as you walk through the alley of sphinxes that once linked Karnak temple to Luxor temple, used during the Opet Festival. During this festival, the statues of the Theban triad were carried in procession from Karnak Temple to Luxor Temple, allowing Amun-Ra (the solar form of the god Amun) to meet Amun-Min (the form of Amun in Luxor Temple).
Continue your journey to Luxor Temple, entering the site through the imposing pylon of Ramses II, marveling at his monumental colossi, and witnessing the unique obelisk (the other was gifted to France by the viceroy Mehmet Ali). The site also boasts a Roman chapel and a mosque, perched atop the ancient temple columns. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a charming local restaurant.
After lunch, transfer to your hotel, Nefertiti Hotel in Luxor, to check in and settle in for the night.
Day 2 : Luxor West Bank Tour/Flight back to Cairo
In the morning, your Egyptology guide will pick you up from your hotel and guide you to the West Bank of Luxor, the second part of your day's exploration.
Discover the Valley of the Kings, a testament to the pharaohs' glory. This valley was chosen by the pharaohs as their royal necropolis after the Pyramids of Lower Egypt were stripped of their treasures. The site contains 63 tombs carved into the mountain rock, the most famous being that of the young king Tutankhamun. Venture inside a royal tomb and examine the colourful scenes on the walls, providing insights into the beliefs and funerary rites of the Ancient Egyptians.
next, we'll continue to the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. As you arrive, the impressive cliff will captivate your gaze, but it is at the foot of this natural masterpiece that the real wonder lies – Hatshepsut temple. The external architecture blends seamlessly with the refined cliff, giving the impression that the building was sculpted into the rock.
Lastly, you'll stop by the Colossi of Memnon that stands proudly. These massive statues gaze out toward the Nile, serving as guardians of Amenhotep's memorial temple.
Enjoy lunch at a delightful local restaurant. After lunch, your amazing tour comes to an end. Your guide will transfer you to Luxor airport for your flight back to Cairo.
Upon arrival in Cairo, our driver will pick you up from the airport and transport you back to your hotel in Cairo.
