Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Cairo

Your experience of a unique Egypt Christmas tour starts from Cairo, the capital. Our representative will assist you with everything necessary at Cairo International Airport

Then, you’ll be transported to the comfort of your hotel for the overnight via our private AC vehicle.

Day 2: Cairo Full Day

Today, a unique day is waiting for you on this remarkable Egypt Christmas tour.

Following breakfast, your Egypt vacation package begins with the Great Pyramids of Giza, the majestic work of 3 great Pharaohs: Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure that testify to royal perfectionism & artistry and bring the history to life in front of your eyes.

Also, at the Giza plateau, you’ll meet the mighty Sphinx, an architectural beauty of limestone 3,000 years old of a mythical creature that represents the greatness of ancient Egypt architecture. 

After an Egyptian lunch, you’ll be on your way to Memphis which once bustled with many attractions as it served as the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom days. 

Shortly after, your journey takes you to the innovative Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara, which represents a major shift in the pyramids' construction principle. It was surrounded by temples and courtyards honoring King Djoser. 

Finally, we’ll drive you back to the hotel.

Day 3: Egyptian Museum - Islamic Cairo

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which houses Egypt’s major stock of artifacts and monuments of almost 170,000 different extraordinary pieces like the treasuries of great Kings like Tutankhamun and his famous mask.

After lunch, you’ll take part in exploring the medieval ages of Cairo starting with Salah El Din Citadel and Alabaster Mosque which sits on top of El Mokattam hill and boasts exquisite minarets and domes built by Muhammad Ali Pasha from limestone.

Next, you’ll be taken to the Sultan Hassan Mosque, which is situated as a masterpiece of the Islamic art complex that consists of a mosque and a madrassa that showcases brilliant intricate craftsmanship in each of its corners.

Nearby is Al Rifa’i Mosque, which exhibits a cultural mix of Mamluk and Ottoman architectural styles, as seen in the minarets and arches. Its artistic interior design includes wooden doors, Islamic calligraphy, and high domes.

Then, you’ll meet Al Azhar Mosque, which blends many Islamic eras of architectural design, making it grafted with different decorations, arcades, minarets, columns, and the prayer hall ornate with Quranic calligraphy.

After a local Egyptian dish, we’ll take you to Al Muizz Street, an open-air museum that includes a wide range of Islamic architecture like madrasas and historical mosques from different eras like Mamluk, Fatimid, and Ottoman. 

Lastly, you’ll continue wandering at Khan El Khalili Street. A souk that remained since the 14th century and a main destination for many goods like spices, gold, soap, and handmade souvenirs which you'll definitely like and buy for your loved ones.

Finally, we’ll head back to the hotel.

Day 4: Bahariya Oasis

Following breakfast, you’ll be on your way to the Bahariya Oasis, where you’ll settle at the camp and savor a delicious lunch in the afternoon.  

Later, you’ll start exploring the oasis as you witness its salt lake, swim a bit at the natural springs, and then head to Pyramid Mountain, which is a naturally formed pyramid with unbelievable symmetry.  

Then, you’ll head to the English Mountain and enjoy the unparalleled sunset views at its summit and then stroll at the oasis souk before dinner at the camp and overnight.

Day 5: Black and White Desert

Your Egypt Christmas tour isn’t complete without meeting the beauty of the deserts. 

As you arrive at Bahariya Oasis, you’ll enjoy a local dish for lunch, and then start your 4x4 vehicle trip through the desert exploring the simplicity of life and the natural beauty and wonders of the oasis such as Elhaiz village, a serene village known for its palm groves and natural springs, especially the hot springs that have unique therapeutic features. The place is known for its Roman remnants and artifacts

Continuing in the White Desert and its beautiful chalk formations, you’ll pass through the Black Desert and be brought in almost a dramatic natural black landscape that resulted from the volcanic activity that once existed in the area. 

You’ll also visit the marvelous Crystal Mountain which resides between the White Desert and Bahariya Oasis and has charming crystal stones that reflect sunlight, making it a shining spot in the middle of the desert. 

Are you looking for a magical ending to the day? You’ll spend the night camping and savor a delicious local barbecue dinner.

Day 6: Farafra and Dakhla Oases

After breakfast, you’ll continue moving southward toward Farafra Oasis, a place rich in natural and serene landscapes and historical attractions as well. You’ll visit its water springs such as Bir Wahid and Bir Sitta. And for the historical places, you’ll be taken to Badr's Art Museum, which incubates many forms of art that showcase the lifestyle and the nature of Farafra Oasis like paintings and craftings of clay and stone. 

Later, you’ll continue to Dakhla Oasis for lunch, then, you’ll visit  Muzawaka tombs of the Roman era and enter the tombs of Petosiris and Sadosir that still hold their paintings well-preserved and mixing Egyptian alphabet and gods side by side with the Greco-Roman ones. 

Finally, you’ll settle into the camp for the overnight and enjoy scenic natural views while having a yummy BBQ dinner.

Day 7: Al Qasr - Kharga Oasis

Following breakfast, we’ll head to Al Qasr Islamic Town, a Medieval town and one of the well-preserved settlements in the Dakhla Oasis. 

Then, you’ll visit Kharga Oasis and enter Balat village which goes back to the days of the Turkish and Mamluk eras.

After lunch, you’ll venture to the well-preserved Christian necropolis “El Bagawat”, and later visit Hibis Temple which is dedicated to the Amun, Mut, and Khonsu and has architecture reflecting both Egyptian and Persian styles and is decorated with many beautiful colors and carvings that depict different scenes and religious beliefs.  

Finally, we’ll leave the desert and head to Luxor for the overnight. 

Day 8: Luxor East Bank

Upon breakfast, you’ll be taken to Karnak Temple, which is the largest temple in Egypt dedicated to Amun, Mut, and their son Khonsu. Karnak Temple includes the great Hypostyle Hall, Sacred Lake, Obelisks, and many wall inscriptions that depict many Pharaohs, religious reliefs, and Gods of ancient Egypt as it was the center of many important events such as the Opet Festival.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll venture to Luxor Temple, which has a unique splendor of ancient architecture and is known for hosting the coronation of many Kings and Pharaohs, and the royal nature of the place can be seen in the large pylon, the Avenue of Sphinxes that connects Luxor Temple with Karnak Temple, and courtyards & halls that ends with the sanctuary. Each part takes you on a different story and has a special style. 

Finally, we’ll take you back to the hotel.

Day 9: Luxor West Bank

On this day of your Egypt Christmas tour and upon breakfast, you’ll start with the Valley of the Kings, a beautifully painted necropolis of Egypt’s great Pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Ramses III, Seti I, and Tuthmosis III. You’ll witness the beautiful & colorful wall paintings that describe the ancient Egypt funerary rites, the story of the pharaoh, and help his soul on its journey to the afterlife.

Next, you’ll visit the great Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, which is an impressive crafted inside the limestone cliff necropolis that will surely capture your attention. The temple is characterized by its special integration with the surrounding landscape. From the inside, the walls are adorned with charming inscriptions and statues that depict Hatshepsut's reign, her divine birth, and religious rituals.

Later, you’ll stop by the Colossi of Memnon, two colossal statues of quartzite sandstone 60 feet tall that sit proudly guarding Amenhotep's memorial temple that once existed and disappeared due to floodings.

After a local Egyptian lunch, you’ll be taken back to the hotel.

Day 10: El Qusier

Following breakfast, you’ll be on your way to El Qusier via our AC vehicle, and as you reach there, we’ll get you to your hotel.

Day 11: El Qusier

After breakfast, enjoy your day in El Qusier at leisure, or check for our optional day tours and get a full amusement portion of snorkeling, scuba diving, submarine trips, or just relaxing on the beach.

Day 13: Back to Cairo

After breakfast, you’ll head back to Cairo, and enjoy a day at leisure in Cairo. Walk your legs in the streets of Cairo or check out our optional day trips.

Optional tour: Alexandria Day tour from Cairo

Following your breakfast, you’ll be taken via our air-conditioned vehicle to start your day trip to Alexandria from Cairo. 

Your Egypt Christmas tour in Alexandria kicks off with the mysteries of the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa or “Mound of Shards”, which was once a necropolis that mixes Egyptian, Roman, and Greek funerary styles. You’ll see the “Hall of Caracalla” or the Hall of Bones of those murdered by the Roman emperor, Caracalla.

Next, we’ll move to Pompey’s Pillar, an 88-foot red granite pillar carved with unbelievable engineering precision. The pillar is located at what was once the temple of the Greco-Egyptian god, Serapis.

Shortly after, you’ll be headed to St. Catherine Church, a blend of the European and Neo-Gothic architectural styles, and known for its exquisite arches, beautifully stained-glass windows, and tall spires, with an interior artwork of the altar, religious paintings of the Catholic identity of the church, making it a worth visiting destination. 

After a local Egyptian cuisine lunch, we’ll continue with the Qaitbay Citadel, a medieval military pearl built over the ruins of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. Qaitbay Citadel is known for its thick walls and its defensive capabilities which enabled it to defend Alexandria many times.

Later, we conclude the day trip to Alexandria from Cairo at the Cornish strolling across Stanley Bridge for serene and calming views of the sea.

Finally, we’ll head back to Cairo.

Day 14: Flying back Home

After breakfast, we’ll deliver you to the Cairo International Airport for your trip back home, ending our 14 Days Golden Sands and Beautiful Red Sea Egypt Christmas Tour.
