Embark on a journey through time by exploring Cairo's medieval district. Begin your day with a grand example of Ottoman architecture, the Alabaster Mosque. Constructed by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848 as a memorial to his eldest son who passed away in 1816, the mosque is predominantly built from limestone, possibly sourced from the Pyramids of Giza.

Next, visit one of the most stunning and impressive historical structures of the Mamluk era, the Sultan Hassan Mosque. This Islamic complex encompasses a mosque and a madrassa, where the four schools of Islamic thought were once taught. Continue to the Coptic quarter of the city and marvel at the Ben Ezra Synagogue.
