Hamata & Qulaan Islands Snorkeling Trip
Your day starts with an early pickup from your hotel in Marsa Alam. Travel south toward Hamata in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and enjoy the changing scenery along the Red Sea coast.
On reaching Hamata Marina, meet the boat crew and your snorkeling guide before boarding. After getting your equipment and a short safety introduction, set off across the Red Sea toward the Qulaan Islands.
As you sail farther from the coast, enjoy views of the open sea and the remote islands surrounding the area. The Qulaan Islands are part of the protected Wadi El Gemal National Park, known for its natural scenery both above and below the water.
Your first snorkeling stop takes you to a coral reef where you can enter the water and explore the marine life at your own pace. Keep an eye out for colorful reef fish, coral formations, and other marine life that inhabit the shallow Red Sea waters. Your guide will be nearby to assist and help you identify some of the species you encounter.
After the first swim, continue by boat to another snorkeling location. Take another opportunity to explore the reef from a different area while your guide helps make the experience comfortable for both experienced swimmers and first-time snorkelers.
You will then have time to visit the Qulaan Islands themselves. Step onto the sandy shore, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, take photographs, or cool off with a swim in the clear, shallow water. This is also a good opportunity to simply relax away from the busy mainland.
Return to the boat for lunch on board, where you can enjoy a buffet meal accompanied by drinks and refreshments. Take some time to rest on board before continuing with the afternoon activities.
Depending on the weather and sea conditions, there may be another snorkeling stop during the return journey. Use the opportunity to make one more swim around the reef before leaving the islands behind.
After the water activities are finished, relax on the boat as it heads back toward Hamata Marina. Enjoy the sea views and the peaceful ride back to shore.
Once you arrive at the marina, leave the boat and meet your vehicle for the return journey. You will then be driven back to your hotel in Marsa Alam, arriving after a full day spent exploring the waters and islands of the southern Red Sea.
The tour includes round-trip transportation, the boat trip to the Qulaan Islands, snorkeling equipment, assistance from a professional snorkeling guide, lunch on board, and drinks and refreshments.
