The Saqqarah Pyramids, located in the vast necropolis of Saqqarah, just outside of Cairo, are among Egypt’s most historically significant ancient structures. The most famous of these is the Step Pyramid of Djoser, built during the 27th century BC for Pharaoh Djoser by his architect Imhotep.
