Overview
The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), located near the Giza Pyramids, is set to become one of the largest and most modern archaeological museums in the world. Scheduled for full completion soon, GEM will house the most comprehensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, with over 100,000 pieces on display. Among its highlights is the complete collection of treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun, many of which have never been exhibited before, offering an unprecedented look into the life and death of the famous boy king.
The museum is designed to blend contemporary architecture with ancient heritage, featuring vast exhibition halls, a grand atrium, and state-of-the-art conservation and research facilities. Visitors will be greeted by the towering statue of Ramses II, which stands in the museum’s main entrance.
